Behind the camera

Hi I’m Lucy Smith and I have a great passion for photography. I thoroughly love my job and I’m constantly pushing myself in creativity and inspiration to ensure that you have a unique set of images for your wedding or life event.

I started photography when I was 7 years, on an old red film camera, taking pictures of butterflies and all things beautiful – as little girls do. Now, still overflowing with passion, I genuinely love what I do and people say that shows... but for more on that check our the testimonials page!

I live in the sunny Heatons in Stockport and I'm a wife and mum to two gorgeous girls. I spent many a day documenting them...bless them!!

I'm a huge fan of anything sweet! I mean, life without cake, is that even living?

As a photographer my style is reportage and documentary, capturing the moments of the day to show all the excitement and love of your wedding party and guests, or your family and newborn. I will rarely pose you and never be controlling, my way is to help you feel relaxed so the true you is captured!

I have gained a wealth of experience throughout my career including training with photographer Fiona Wei-Ling and completing an off camera flash workshop with renowned photojournalist Rick Friedman. For the last 14 years I've been a professional photographer so I've experienced every eventuality in that time!

When choosing a wedding photographer, it’s not only important that they are experts at what they do and extremely professional, but that you actually like them! For me, it's key that we have a good connection so I can really capture the very essense of who you are. I'll spend time getting to know you and what you like and don't like to reassure you that you're in good hands... I even make a point of learning people's names as a way to feel like I'm part of your family not a random extra!!
