Never miss a moment!

One of the great things about running a photography business for over a decade is that I have journeyed with so many people through there most happiest moments! From shooting a couple getting married through to the birth of their second child, it’s genuinely so great to see how peoples lives unfold.

So it is always a pleasure to photograph the amazing Round family. I met Lucy and Matt back in 2014 and a year later they kindly got togged up in their wedding outfits (which still fit – strong couple goals HAA!!) to take part in my promo video for Smith Imaging (click here to view it). It was so much fun that day, dodging the Manchester weather and walking around with Lucy in her amazing dress. A huge thank you to Northern Spark for shooting it for me – if you need any video check out Mark Tuson. Also to my amazing friend Jacquie who helped with styling!

Then a few years later there were actual tears when they told me their baby was on the way… so naturally we did a baby announcement shoot- with their amazing house rabbit, Monty!

So then came the arrival of Hudson… and the world was changed forever! This little champion is such a legend, and last year I had the honour of documenting his beautiful 3 week old face!…

I mean… how cute is he!!!

And then lovely lockdown happened and Lucy contacted me when I was doing my run of Doorstep Shoots to document that moment for them. Brilliantly though, when the time came for the shoot we were legally allowed to have a social distancing shoot outside, so that is exactly what we did!… Here are a few from that day!

But hey it’s always better to hear the story from them rather than me – here is the lovely Lucy explaining why she keeps hiring me over on my facebook page

The Didsbury House hotel – Howard and Jill

I know we all complained about the heat in the summer – but I miss it now! HA! So let me take you back to a beautiful summers day, when these two legends got married: Jill and Howard! I knew when I first met them that it was going to be a great day! Straight in from the gym to our meeting, it was clear that Jill loved a challenge, and not only was she planning a wedding but prepping for a New York marathon!! Howard is not shy to adventure either, having proposed to Jill on a surf board!! So the day at the Didsbury House Hotel was always going to be a great one!

The morning begun at their Didsbury home, with no less that their awesome pet featuring as a ring bearer! See the image below!

As the sun shone we arrived at the venue to hear the amazing band The Magpies playing to welcome the guests. This band got the party started at the end of the day too, showing how versatile they are to hire for your wedding day!

The service was actually lead by Howard’s dad, Hedley Paul Spargo, who normally leads weddings in Ibiza. He used a traditional ceremony of the giving cup and tying the knot, which was enjoyed by everyone! The flowers were created by Sian and her amazing team at The Flower Lounge   If you need flowers for any event – look no further!

We then found our way to the wonderful Fletcher Moss Gardens for couple shots, which was a great moment to take some time away and for Jill and Howard to actually chat to each other – surprising how on a wedding day you end up talking to everyone else!

Finally, the reception. Incredible food from the Didsbury House Hotel and the speeches – well, you can see from the pics; the team of best men, smashed it!

I had an amazing email from Jill and Howard after the wedding which is why I still do what I do after 10 years in the business:

“Firstly, thank you so very much for helping to make our wedding such an awesome day. We are so glad that it was you taking our photos on the day and love looking through the photos you took. You made us feel so relaxed around you and managed to make me look good on a photo (something very few have managed). Our day was extra special to us in that we had family and friends involved in almost every part; from celebrant to cake, MC to flowers. You slotted in perfectly and felt like part of that family.

I know you love your job and it truly shows. It’s obvious that you also love connecting with people and that shines through in our photos. You really caught the characters in our guests, especially the children.

Thank you again for being a wonderful part of our day. If you would like our recommendation at any point, would like us to rewrite this email or post it anywhere on social media etc. then please let me know and we would be delighted to do so.”

I hope you enjoy looking at these – do follow me on social media to see more of my work!

Engagement Shoot

It still feels like a bit of an ‘American thing’ to have an engagement shoot to some, but I love them!

Unlike a wedding, we get to choose the weather, and during this shoot the weather was truly epic! May I introduce the amazing Suz and Andy to you! Suz is also a photographer, in fact her and her partner photographed my wedding, nearly 14 years ago! Now it’s her turn and I was completely honoured to be shooting her big day!! I’d not met Andy, so the engagement shoot is a great way for us all to spend some time together, and get use to the way I shoot.

Suz picked out an awesome location for the beginning part of the shoot. A bakery and coffee shop, names Bakers in Bolton. If you’ve not been and your close, it’s a must! According to Suz and Andy, brunch there is great…and I can vouch for the cakes and coffee!!

As we were shooting in the cafe we could see the sun was still out so we made a dash for ‘golden hour’ and we were blessed! We found a lovely hill side (traditionally boggy…well it is England!), Andy pulled the car over and we jumped out! Suz and I know what a gift this light is and we made full use of it for sure!

So here are just a few tasters of what we got up to! I can’t wait to see these two get married in only a couple of weeks, they are literally ‘made for each other’ and I can’t wait to document their moment!!

Alice and Josh get married!!

What an incredible day! Josh and Alice met and feel in love in the wonderful city of Manchester! They planned their big day to take place right at the heart of this fabulous city. The reception was held at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester and the ceremony was held, just up the road, at St. Annes Church.

As you can see from the day, it was filled laughter, joy and love! Alice and Josh run their own music company called Sing Academy and they trained the RNCM  so you can imagine how amazing the music was throughout the day!! One of the most amazing moments was when they joined their evening function band, Funk Brother: Soul Sister and sang the night away! As you can see from the images, they sang their hearts out and the dance floor was the busiest I’ve ever seen it!!

Andrea and Mark’s Wedding day

If you need a reminder of sunnier days then look no further! This beautiful sunny day will be forever remembered in the hearts of Andrea, Mark and their friends!

The venue was Redhouse Farm Barn  which is a stunning, bespoke wedding venue, in the West Midlands. Andrea and Mark are an incredible couple and their day was vibrant, fun, full of great emotions and beautiful friendships. I was truly honoured to be apart of their day, so here is a little window into it!

Jason and Katy

What an amazing day! Even the rain couldn’t stop these two incredible people having the time of their lives. These two know what it is to over come hardships, and so a little rain was nothing for them… The festival style wedding was such a great way to celebrate these two being united… complete with camp fires, marshmallow and a sparkler send off, Jason and Katy’s wedding was one incredible day! I hope you enjoy…

Delamere Forest

Family time is so super important. So this weekend my hubbie and our little ladies went to Delamere Forest (run by the Forestry Commission) for the first time and we loved it so much I thought I’d share it with you all!

We’ve never been before but they have so much going on!! Our little ladies are 3 and 7, so we went for the new Stick Man Activity Trail.

It was so brilliant!! If you park (£6 for all day) at the cafe (sat Nav CW8 2JD) you can get the activity packs from the cafe for £3 each. In there you get an activity booklet to do on your way around, with extra sheets for bark rubbings. You also get some brown pipe cleaners to make your very own stick man (see below pictures). You also get a little activity booklet to do at home: so a total bargin!!

It wasn’t really very warm when we went but you didn’t notice it because we just ran and walked around finding all the different bits of activities!! Watch the video to find out about what we got up to!

Our girls totally loved it so at the end is a little video clip of our youngest little lady giving you her review!!

Such a great day out for the kids!!
