Wedding in the Isle of Wight

This beautiful wedding was shot mid July in the picturesque countryside of the Isle of Wight.

If you’ve never been to the Isle of Wight, can I please just take a minute and tell you why you should go… It is beautiful!! The people are super friendly, and the panoramic views from the coast are breath taking.

I have known Naomi for a few years and she had always said that when she got married she’d love me to be her photographer (honestly, still blushing, what a lovely thing to say!). So when I got a call from her, I was very excited! Naomi is an incredible lady, and she met her man through an internet site! On first meeting she had her phone at the ready to call her best friend, just in case he ‘was a weirdo’! But all was well…he turned out to be a keeper! Rob is from the north of England (Yay as I live in Manchester) and is genuinely so kind and considerate, they are a perfect match!

So you can imagine that I was extra excited, not only that Naomi was getting married, but on such a wonderful island! Naomi’s dress (which is nothing short of stunning, I know you’ll agree) was brought from the illustrious Forget-me-not Designs, vintage lace designs for the modern bride.

The ceremony was at a very civilised time of 3pm at the beautiful rose windowed church, St Mildred’s Church. As the sun shone, Naomi arrived on a horse drawn carriage, a perfect way to take in her surroundings before entering into the church. The candle lit service was full of a real sense of love and emotion, as you can see from the images. Then after a rose petal confetti moment, we were off to the stunning reception venue. Osbourne House is a magnificent English Heritage property. It was firstly owned by Queen Victoria (as her her palatial holiday home) and she is quoted in saying “It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot”. I think I might agree with her! The newly painted wedding suite was so elegant and the staff were beyond helpful. Douglas and his team pulled out all the stops to make it a remarkable and memorable reception.

So without further ado, here are a few images from this lovely summer wedding…

Love is to the heart what the summer is to the farmer’s year — it brings to harvest all the loveliest flowers of the soul.
