Engagement shoots are still thought as ‘an American’ thing…but I love them!!
They give my clients time to settle in front of the camera before their big day. I also get to spend time with them, seeing how they interact with each other and ensuring I capture their ‘best side’. So when Andrea and Mark booked one with me I was so pleased!!
Mark proposed to Andrea on the Clent Hills, so this was the beautiful location for our shoot. Andrea and Mark had watched my video on how to prepare for the shoot (click here to see it!) so they came fully prepared.
The weather was perfect, a slight lazy sun creating a beautiful haze! It did get a little chilly, so a lush blanket came in handy half way through!! It was a great day, I can’t wait for their wedding day in a few weeks time!!
These guys love for each other is so genuine that when I turned my back to take a pic, they were still embracing each other! So awesome!! So here is a grab shot I took, I love the ‘realness’ of it… surrounded by our prop bags, they’re having a moment!!… Don’t forget if you’d like a shoot get in touch: email@example.com or visit www.smithimaging.co.uk for more images
Family time is so super important. So this weekend my hubbie and our little ladies went to Delamere Forest (run by the Forestry Commission) for the first time and we loved it so much I thought I’d share it with you all!
We’ve never been before but they have so much going on!! Our little ladies are 3 and 7, so we went for the new Stick Man Activity Trail.
It was so brilliant!! If you park (£6 for all day) at the cafe (sat Nav CW8 2JD) you can get the activity packs from the cafe for £3 each. In there you get an activity booklet to do on your way around, with extra sheets for bark rubbings. You also get some brown pipe cleaners to make your very own stick man (see below pictures). You also get a little activity booklet to do at home: so a total bargin!!
It wasn’t really very warm when we went but you didn’t notice it because we just ran and walked around finding all the different bits of activities!! Watch the video to find out about what we got up to!
Our girls totally loved it so at the end is a little video clip of our youngest little lady giving you her review!!
Such a great day out for the kids!!
Wow, what a day!! The stunning wedding of Beth and Barnes took place in Longhoughton, a gorgeous part of the British countryside. The day was perfect, but I’m sure you remember me telling you for their engagement shoot that their wedding venue wasn’t quite built yet!! Well, it was finish in plenty of time, and we were the first wedding there! What a wonderful location it was too, Doxford Barn. As you can see from their day, the wedding was full of intensely beautiful emotions, plenty of giggles and some serious belly laughing!! One of my many favourite moments of the day happened during the beach shots. The Groom, Barney, likes to have a dip in the sea, so naturally the boys went for a swim before the wedding! However, during the photos at the beach after the ceremony a bunch of their mates decided to take the plunge in honour of Barney. The images speak for themselves!!
The food at the wedding was nothing short of EPIC! After an incredible starter, a platter of salmon, pate, salad, mackerel and more each table was issued with a chefs hat! One person from each table had a letter explaining that they were the ‘carver’ for the next course. Wow what a course it was. Whole roast chickens and lambs came to each table… the food was superb!
The first dance photos are also a first for me. The evening reception was a fancy dress theme, and the guests got fully on board!! The sparklers at the end of the night, in fancy dress, summed up the day perfectly: sparkly fun!
Enjoy the images from their wonderful day:
This beautiful wedding was shot mid July in the picturesque countryside of the Isle of Wight.
If you’ve never been to the Isle of Wight, can I please just take a minute and tell you why you should go… It is beautiful!! The people are super friendly, and the panoramic views from the coast are breath taking.
I have known Naomi for a few years and she had always said that when she got married she’d love me to be her photographer (honestly, still blushing, what a lovely thing to say!). So when I got a call from her, I was very excited! Naomi is an incredible lady, and she met her man through an internet site! On first meeting she had her phone at the ready to call her best friend, just in case he ‘was a weirdo’! But all was well…he turned out to be a keeper! Rob is from the north of England (Yay as I live in Manchester) and is genuinely so kind and considerate, they are a perfect match!
So you can imagine that I was extra excited, not only that Naomi was getting married, but on such a wonderful island! Naomi’s dress (which is nothing short of stunning, I know you’ll agree) was brought from the illustrious Forget-me-not Designs, vintage lace designs for the modern bride.
The ceremony was at a very civilised time of 3pm at the beautiful rose windowed church, St Mildred’s Church. As the sun shone, Naomi arrived on a horse drawn carriage, a perfect way to take in her surroundings before entering into the church. The candle lit service was full of a real sense of love and emotion, as you can see from the images. Then after a rose petal confetti moment, we were off to the stunning reception venue. Osbourne House is a magnificent English Heritage property. It was firstly owned by Queen Victoria (as her her palatial holiday home) and she is quoted in saying “It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot”. I think I might agree with her! The newly painted wedding suite was so elegant and the staff were beyond helpful. Douglas and his team pulled out all the stops to make it a remarkable and memorable reception.
So without further ado, here are a few images from this lovely summer wedding…
Love is to the heart what the summer is to the farmer’s year — it brings to harvest all the loveliest flowers of the soul.
I am so excited about the new packing that I am using this year. Look at the finish on it! Beautiful! I’m so excited for Rob and Naomi to receive theirs (and they will have done by the time this goes live #etiquette). So here is their finished packaging…

Every good love story should start with a tree top house! So naturally this is a good’en!!
Let me introduce you to the wonderful Beth and Barnes to you…these two incredible humans will tie the knot in July so I went to visit their wedding destination, one sunny afternoon in May.And here is where it all began in this amazing tree top cafe, so of course, we started the shoot here: the location of their first date! This incredible place had it’s own high-wire rope bridge, which the couple took to straight away! It is evident that these two, love life and love laughing… we had a lot of fun!
Then we took a drive down beautiful country lanes to find the beach (which we are hoping to visit on their wedding day- YES I’m excited!!). As you can see, these two have great fun and are deeply in love. It’s going to be a great wedding day!
Towards the end of the shoot we visited the farm, were the reception will be held…As you can imagine, it was such a lovely day!!
I love a beautiful autumnal day, especially when I get to use my camera! It was a complete honour to photograph this beautiful new little family. As we sat amongst an array of dried fallen leaves, we were visited by wild life too! It was a perfect afternoon, for this perfect family.
After the shoot they commented on social media: ‘Such a lovely time with this gifted lady, helped us feel so natural and get the pics of our little family. Big love & Thanks.’
If you’d like a family photo shoot then prices start at £150 with images included! Perfect for that family gift for christmas.
I love a creative wedding – and this was exactly that! Abi used her amazing creativity to produce a beautiful wedding day! Bunting, ribbons, vintage nick-nacks, sweet shop, photo wall and Dr WHO ornaments …to name a few of the ideas she pulled together!
Mark and Abi had a whirl wind romance and planned the whole wedding in under 3 months. It can be done, and they did it beautiful!
Abi’s lovely dress and shoes were both from Bride to Be Hannah Lois Bridal in Stockport. Her mum made the cake and even all the handmade icing flowers on it, very talented! Mark, the groom, made one decision to aid towards the day which was the colour of the ties. Abi then recalls he lost his own and had to borrow his dad’s office tie! But even that couldn’t dampen their incredible beautiful and emotional day! The sun shone all afternoon and the whole day was bathe in a beautiful golden light that lingered until we had finished out last few romantic shots! The end of the night saw the new Mr and Mrs leave by a tunnel made of sparklers! Stunning!
Thanks to the incredible Lucy West who assisted me on the day, the dream team!
So without further a do may I present the wedding of Mark and Abi Turley…
The Incredibly stunning wedding of Chris and Woodsy! The story of these two is nothing short of a fairy tale, and it was such an honour to play a part in capturing it! True love can be found when you least expect it!
The venue was so beautiful, the incredible Netherwood hotel, is a family run hotel and the staff treat everyone as royalty. Such a lovely and friendly environment.
Thanks to Rachel Hayton for assisting me on the day, you’re a emerging photography genius!
What a stunning day in Pembrokeshire! The day Samantha and Jason got married it was forcast as heavy showers and thunder storms, however the sun shone and as the day progress, so did it’s beauty. As you can see from the images by the time we came out of the ceremony the sun was in full flow and so were the smiles and giggles.
All credit to Samantha and Jason who trekked down to the beach in their flip flops to have photos taken where Jason proposed!! It was a truly stunning location with incredible cliff formations and fabulous surf! Jason brought Samantha a surf board as her wedding present, so the following day they both went down to their beach to ride some waves.
Samantha and Jason hired me for my high end photography package which includes all the high resolution images on a bespoke USB. I have included images of because I simply love the packaging!
The day was such a pleasure to be involved with, and with the fabulous Angharad Gwenter alongside, the images really do show what an amazing day it was. I wish Samantha and Jason every happiness in their greatest adventure yet – marriage!
